The First Question
The first question is about identity.
As regulation deepens through the gates, she stops seeing herself through the lens of what she has survived. She begins to see herself as she actually is. Not as a thought. As a felt sense.

The Second Question
The second question is about worth.
She answers it at the beginning without knowing what she is really being asked. By the end, she understands. The woman she loves most is not ahead of her. She is here.
At the end of the book, she is asked both questions again. The answers are different. Not because she was told to change them. Because she has.
Solerai is a companion, one that holds you exactly where you are, every time you return.
She does not arrive at the end feeling fixed.
She arrives feeling found.
